The pinnacle of luxury travel, presidential suites are designed to indulge and create an unforgettable experience for those who are accustomed to and demand the very best.
With the holidays a distant memory and the apaiser team well and truly back in top gear, we thought we would take a momentary pause, reflect on some of our favourite 2018 projects, revisit our latest collections and bring you some inspiration for the new year.
We were thrilled to catch up recently with editor-in-chief of Design Anthology Magazine, Suzy Annetta. Originally from Melbourne and having lived and worked as an integral part of the design community in Asia for many years, Suzy’s own experiences home and abroad have no doubt shaped her own style and journey. Here we talk to Suzy about the impact and influence of culture and locality on regional design.
apaiser has come a long way from its conception in the year 2000. What started as a local Melbourne company is now a global brand with offices in New York, London, Singapore, Dubai, Brisbane and Bangkok. As we celebrate eighteen years as innovators in the world of bathware, we reflect on our origins – where we came from and what drove us to challenge the norms of the industry, so many years ago.
The notion of environmental responsibility and sustainability has become an inherent part of design – from product to interiors, architecture and urban planning. Our industry has a responsibility to preserve precious natural resources and alleviate problems caused by uncontrolled urban expansion.
Over many years, Anna and the team at DBI have created an impressive folio of beautiful residential, commercial and hospitality projects across Australia, Asia, the Middle East and beyond. In her work she is driven by innovation, human experience and meaningful, sustainable design. Here, Anna chats to us about inspiration, differentiation and influences:
Thankfully, gone are the days in which bathware, otherwise known by the somewhat mundane term “sanitary ware“, was produced with simply function in mind. Sold by one-stop hardware stores, selling cold white ceramics, bathrooms and their fixtures were sterile and utilitarian. Today bathroom and more importantly bathware design, is all about creating breathtaking spaces and custom pieces, reflecting individual style and desire.
